Don’t fall in the trap of ‘enough’

Time and again we are bombarded with the advice that financial planning is very important. If you want the next phase of your life to be worry-free and fulfilling, you've to engage in some sort of planning. Plan, invest and save enough to enjoy a lifestyle without compromise.

Santosh, my husband, puts me through this test regularly. Today, I would like to share this incident which has left a lasting impression on my mind.

This snippet always raises the ultimate question in my mind- How much is enough?

I hear Santosh ask this question to many of our friends, clients and colleagues. I know there is no magic number to this answer. The reason is one size does not fit all. We align our aspirations with our goals. Each one of us have a different want and need.

What I really appreciate about my husband is he keeps revisiting our ‘Plan for enough’. Because ‘Planning for enough’ is a tightrope walk. Everyone misjudges a step now and then, but the best ones fall less often, because they have developed the skill to make constant and correct adjustments to stay out of trouble. It is not enough to have our own ‘Plan for enough’. Remember to make the necessary adjustments to strike the balance between less and more than enough.
